The 2008 – 2009 AMA Tulsa Monthly Luncheon Speaker Series kicks off by presenting a dynamic speaker and well-known Tulsa personality, Karen Keith, who will talk about the ins and outs of marketing issues that affect us all. Whenever campaigns are created for specific issues in Tulsa, everyone knows they are in for a lively debate. As part of the team for the successful Vision 2025 campaign, Karen has worked on many issues which effect Tulsa’s economic future including the 3rd Penny Campaign, Go Bond and the River Vote. While participating in these campaigns, Karen has experienced both success and failure when it comes to marketing issues presented to Tulsans for their support. In addition to her community involvement, Karen Keith has emceed hundreds of events, hosted her own television show, anchored the evening news, and received national recognition in the field of broadcasting. She is a native of Muskogee where she was an active 4-H member and established her passion for public service. Karen graduated OSU with a degree in Radio, TV news and Public Affairs. After an internship at KTUL-TV in Tulsa, Karen accepted a permanent position at KJRH-TV. Karen received national recognition as one the Ten Outstanding Young American's by the Jaycees as well as The National Star Award by the American Women in Radio and TV. After 26 years in the media, Karen served as Director of Community Relations in the Tulsa Mayor's office, and then Director of Partnership Development for the Tulsa Metro Chamber of Commerce. She is currently campaigning for the position of County Commissioner, District 2.
